There can be several possible reasons for a leak in AVA Zoomlanse:
A) Leakage from a bayonet (quick coupling)
Leakage on the bayonet coupling (the quick coupling on the end of all accessories, see picture below). This could be on the Zoomlance, but also on the bayonet of the accessory you insert into the Zoomlance.
This coupling seals against a small tube inside the female part of the quick coupling. The o-ring that ensures it is tight is hidden behind what we call an o-ring holder. This retainer must be removed in order to inspect the o-ring and is shown below.
The O-ring is available in the AVA First Aid Kit . and can usually be bought from your local AVA dealer, or in our online store.
Here you see how to go about changing or inspecting the o-ring.
B) Leakage from the lance itself
Lances that leak from the ridged inner tube have damage that in most cases is caused by frost, feel free to read more here or here.
Here we have taken a picture of a lance which was completely sealed at first, but which is leaking from the pipe after being left out in the cold at our office. To date, we have not found any obvious weaknesses that could cause such leaks through normal use, an all of the lances we have inspected upon return have shown signs of damage either from frost or misuse/abuse.
The lance can usually be purchased from one of our dealers or through our online store.
In some cases of frozen lances, we see that the damage is further inside the pipe. In such cases, the water comes from within, as in the picture below. The same applies here; Buy a new one, or submit a claim.
Included equipment such as water filter, gun, nozzles, lance, hoses, terrace washer, foam cannon, brushes, etc. are not covered beyond the usual 2-year warranty. User errors, frost or external damage to the products are not covered under our guarantee.
