As with our nozzle connection system, when we set out to design AVA’s hose connection architecture, we chose to use the most common style of quick connect hose fittings on the market. Therefore, you should find that the AVA hose fitting (pictured and dimensioned below) will fit many popular brands guns and accessories (such as Nilfisk, Bosch, Makita, Lavor etc.) without issue. The same goes for using the AVA guns and lances with hoses or machines from the brands that use the same hose fitting. We unfortunately cannot supply a complete list of specific brands and machines that use the same type of quick connect hose coupling as we do, and we are aware that some brands use slight variations of this quick connect that do not fit our equipment natively, or the equipment of the brands listed above (such as certain IPC machines). If you need new accessories for a machine that is not AVA, you can buy an AVA Starter Kit, consisting of a hose, gun and 2 nozzles (one for smaller machines, and one for larger machines – marked accordingly).
Since 2009 Karcher have been using a modified hose quick connect system with chamfered edges that are exclusive to their equipment. If you wish to use an AVA/standard gun on the end of your Karcher hose, then you must use an adapter. If it is the other way around, and you want to use an AVA machine with a Karcher gun or accessory, then another adapter is required, which we also produce and can be found here: https://avastore.co.uk/product/ava-adapter-ava-female-to-male-karcher/
If you are choosing to use a gun from another brand that uses a different kind of fitting (such as an M22 threaded fitting) with your AVA hose and machine, then you will have to make your own adapter using parts that you can find commonly online or at your local hardware store. We have found that the use of a female hose coupling and a male coupling to ¼” standard thread adapter are good places to start, as most other high pressure fittings can be adapted to from this ¼” threaded part with minimal extra adapters. There is a great number of ways that an adapter can be built between our couplings and the plethora of potential couplings on your accessories, so you’ll have to find what works best for your particular gun or lance.
We are unfortunately not in a position to assist each individual customer with the purchase and assembly of custom adapters for their individual needs due to the large range of potential connections and adapter combinations that are possible.
