The nozzles are made with a horizontal spray direction because our research shows that this is the correct angle for the majority of the tasks people use it for.
Sometimes you still need a different angle and therefore we have created the AVA accessory swivel so that you can change the angle exactly as you want.
It is however, entirely possible to change the angle of all fixed nozzles. We've kept the process to ourselves a bit because it has to be done correctly or you run the risk of ruining your nozzle. Do not use a screwdriver - this is important because putting a screwdriver into the nozzle can destroy the clean and unobsturcted water jet you get with an AVA fixed nozzle .
However, if you do this correctly, you can change the direction of the flush in no time without damaging anything. Find a tool with a flat end, such as a drill bit (the perfect size is 3.5mm). Place the flat side against the brass nozzle in the center.
Then press the brass nozzle inwards/downwards so that it loosens and falls out of the other end. As you can see in the next photo, there is a large slot that fits perfectly with a flathead screwdriver on the back of the brass nozzle you removed:
Apply silicone/grease to the nozzle in an even layer, then find a flat screwdriver that fits perfectly; that is, it should be the same width as the back of the nozzle. It is important that it is not larger, and if it is too small, you will not be able to attach properly: 
Then take the brass nozzle back in and push it completely into place: 
Once you have got the nozzle completely in place, you can turn until you find exactly the angle you want:
With this, the job is done and you can wash at the angle you have chosen.
Basically, you can use a flat screwdriver and twist. If you choose to do this, you will be turning the nozzle without silicone/grease, and you must be absolutely sure that you have the right screwdriver size; it must be exactly 3.5 mm.
By twisting without having applied silicone/grease, there is a much higher risk of damaging the nozzle.
