If you experience uneven pressure, there is usually nothing wrong with the machine itself, but there may be air in the system that is causing this. To remove the air, we recommend removing the lance or nozzle so that a thick jet of water comes out of the gun without any particular pressure. Press the pistol grip in and out 5-10 times quickly. Then hold the gun and watch the water jet. When it is smooth and fine, and without air cavitation, you can reattach the nozzle and try again.
We also recommend testing the washer with different nozzles and with and without a zoom lance to see if the accessory could be the cause of a variance pressure.
If the water jet does not change to a smooth, fine jet without air, it indicates that the water connection on the garden hose or water filter on the machine is a little loose so that air is getting in that way. Rinse and tighten the water filter and water connection or, if necessary, replace the water connection on the garden hose. Remember that you must not have a water-stop connection on the water supply.
If none of the options above help, you can try an old trick that works well on AVA machines: put the machine on its back and remove the water hose. Spray CRC, WD40 or a similar substance into the water intake so that the pump is well filled with lubricant. Let it sit for a while. Then connect the hose, set up the machine and flush with the gun 10-15 times - without a nozzle.
If you still experience poor pressure, review our troubleshooting form to prepare warranty claims.
We are currently working on translating and rewriting all of our articles into English from the original Norwegian. Whilst we are proud of the quality of our language skills here at AVA, we are aware that there may be some slightly odd syntax and wording present in the articles that have been translated. The approach we have taken to this translation process is in order to get as much information as possible out to our customers in a timely fashion. Thusly the ongoing revision and updating of these articles by our British-Norwegian team will include slight changes to how the text is put together in order to bring it more into line with correct British English.
