This is often caused by cavitation, is not harmful to the machine, and you can continue to use it as normal.
Machines making this beeping/screeching/beeping sound when the pump stops can occur in high-pressure washers in general, including in our models. The sound is produced when water is forced through a narrow valve so causing air bubbles appear. This can happen at different points in different models.
On our pumps, cavitation occurs in the connections with and between plastic parts. Cavitation can be harmful around metal parts, which is luckily not applicable in our pumps.
On AVA, this happens when the pump reduces the pressure after use, i.e. the moment you release the gun. This is the result of a function we added that is more commonly found on larger professional washers.
AVA has added this to achieve a better lifespan for the machine. With this function, a machine in standby maintains 20 bar pressure. Most consumer washers maintain full pressure in standby, this is more taxing on the pump and accessories.
The price for an increased lifetime is therefore sometimes annoying sound when you let go of the gun.
If the sound is experienced as very annoying, it may be caused by debris in the pump which amplifies the sound. This may occur after some time but can often be avoided by spraying WD40 or similar into the water intake.
If a long time passes between each time you use the machine, or you do as many others do and put it away during the winter, you should do the following.

In many cases, these processes will be able to minimise the sound, but it will not disappear completely, as this is a consequence of an additional function on the AVA machines.
Could this have been done differently?
By removing the function, the sound could also have been avoided, but we believe the advantage is greater than the disadvantage. Some may find that the sound is reduced slightly over time and when changing the service kit,, but it may also become somewhat louder. There is therefore no fault with the pump, and nothing that is being damaged. We believe that longevity is an important environmental measure, and on a general basis we can say that pumps with this function have double the lifespan when compared to similar pumps on the market.
