Want to know more about AVA's high pressure hoses?

We at AVA are concerned with cultivating a good washing experience, and based on previous market research, the feedback about high-pressure hoses was clear:

• People hate to fight with hoses that curl and snap around constantly, and can retreat into an unwieldy spin.
• Hoses that cannot withstand kinks quickly develop holes, which is even more troublesome.

Based on this, we have set ourselves the goal of only supplying hoses that are good ito use. Despite our user-friendly hoses, we at AVA continue to listen to customers and make changes where necessary.

AVA steel-reinforced hose is a rubber hose that lies flat along the ground and is thus as very cooperative during use. The hose has a rubberized protection that can wears out after a time or  under heavy use. If frost from the inside creates cracks, or wear from the outside exposes the steel wires that are braided together in the middle, this steel can then rust and create a leak. Steel-reinforced rubber hoses are therefore not an eternally solid hose, but a hose that is very user freindly. Pure professional/industrial hoses often use a different coating on the outside that is more robust against wear and tear, but contains substances that are nowhere near as environmentally friendly as our rubberized coating. Here we have therefore focused on ease of use and a more sustainable environmental choice.

Another pro for this type of hose is that in the case of serious damage, the affected section can be cut away, and a hose workshop (or you yourself if you care capable!) can easily splice the hose back together with the damaged section removed.

AVA Flex hose is a soft hose with a different surface, and without steel inside. These are somewhat more resistant to frost, and can also be used if you experience problems with the rubber on the steel-reinforced hose leaving marks on a surface, perhaps typically when washing boats or brightly coloured outdoor tiles. The hose may curl somewhat at cold temperatures, but far less than a typical high-pressure hose. We recommend fully extending the hose before starting.

From the launch of the first AVA machines until now, we have listened to the feedback we have received along the way:

The hose coupling is rusting

To solve this, steel armed hoses now have a brass coupling that does not rust, while AVA Flex has received a new, lavish surface treatment that prevents rust.

The outermost rubber layer wears out

This is in the nature of the snake type, and cannot be avoided. But how quickly does it actually wear out? We attached 6 hoses with a length of 10 meters to a car, and drove 35 kilometers with the hose trailing behind. After this, none of the hoses were worn out in such a way that the hose was damaged. Nevertheless; We always want to improve, and have therefore set in motion a project to test various surface treatments that provide even better service life without compromising the environment. We expect to have an upgraded solution in place in 2024.
